ARTHUR E. WOHLFAHRT
Arthur Wohlfahrt Arthur E. Wohlfahrt died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Thursday Aug 13, 2009. He was born in Yonkers on March 4, 1939 and was adopted when an infant by the late Augustus E. Wohlfahrt and Helena Eckert Wohlfahrt. He lived in Poughkeepsie all his life, attended Poughkeepsie schools and graduated from Arlington High School in 1957. He attended Dutchess Community College and graduated from Marist College in 1977.

He began working at IBM in the apprentice program in 1957 and retired in 1992 after 35 years of service in different managerial positions. On Aug 20, 1961, he married MaryAnn Rose at St Mary’s Church. They had two beautiful daughters and five wonderful grandchildren. MaryAnn died on Aug. 12, 2003 of a terminal illness.

Arthur was a Formula One race car fan for many years, going to Watkin’s Glen He loved cars, all animals, the theater, travel and his devoted friends. He was a loving husband and father and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Nash-Wohlfahrt, whom he married on Dec 8, 2004; his daughter, Dr. Barbara Wohlfahrt and her husband, Daniel McMahon and their children, Rachel, Ryan and Kelly of Dalton, MA and his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Gregory Hunt and their sons, Bryan and Kevin of Greyslake, IL. He is also survived by his affectionate cats, Bootsie and Iris.

Arthur and Patricia are members of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, where they served as Eucharistic Ministers and visited the sick and home-bound.
