EDWARD VROOMAN GARRISON, NEW YORK — He was the husband of Lynda; father of Heather and Katrina; and grandfather to Madeline and Lydia. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Evangelista, of Millbrook, NY. Edward built a life on his three passions: family, the law and public service. He dedicated himself to bringing up his children, supporting their needs and ambitions. For over forty years, Ed practiced tax and real estate law in Manhattan, White Plains and Fishkill, New York, in part, as a partner in Aitken, Irvin, Berlin & Vrooman. Finally, Ed served the greater New York community steadfastly in numerous capacities. Among his commitments throughout his lifetime, President of the Garrison School Board, President of Garrison Landing, Trustee of the Holland Society of New York, and for the past sixteen years, as a board member of the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the chair of Metro-North.
