LAKE STEVENS, WASHINGTON — Henry “Hank” Hofmann age 79, of Lake Stevens, WA, died peacefully at an Everett, WA, hospital on July 29, 2018.
Hank was born on April 21, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the beloved son of Edwin Henry Raymond Hofmann and Elsie Ebeling Hofmann. He graduated in 1957 from Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY, and later enlisted in the Navy, where he served from 1959-1963. He met the love of his life, Karen Harris, while stationed in Hawaii. They married in 1965 and were together for 33 years, until her death in 1998. They had a daughter, Heather, in 1968. Hank was also a dedicated stepfather to Laura and Carolyn, Karen's daughters from a previous marriage.
Hank worked in Cal Cert at The Boeing Company for 30 years and also owned and operated an airplane repair business he named "Paine Field Instruments" from 1970-1990. He was extremely hard-working and always willing to help others. He often assisted his wife "Miss Karen" with whatever she needed for the 16 years she served as teacher at Snohomish Cooperative Preschool, where he was affectionately known as "Mr. Karen."
Hank later married Lois Pfiester and was stepfather to her children, Janene, Denni and Ed (deceased). Lois died in 2017 after 18 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Karen and Lois, his brother, Raymond, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Olson, and his grandsons, Hunter Olson and Kolt Olson, all of Lewiston, ID; his step-daughters, Laura Steinbaugh and Carolyn Peterson and their families, and Janene Deane and Denni Edwish and their families, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
